Hampstead school has rounders success

New End Primary School, a Hampstead school has make it to the semi-finals of the Goldenlay Omega3 Eggs National Rounders Association 2008 Year 6 Championships

Over 200 primary schools from across the UK entered the championships, with 20 schools qualifying from the regional heats to compete in the finals.

The finals day was full of excitement with special guest appearances from the Lord Mayor of Solihull David Stewart Bell and Mayoress Sally Bell as well as Sophie Hull (England Rounders Under 17 International) who awarded the winner and runner up prizes and trophies

Anna Maguire, teachers assistant at New End Primary School, said: “Even though it has poured down with rain the children have really enjoyed the day. There has been a really good atmosphere with kids all getting along from other schools in the different districts.“
