Shaka Zulu hosts ‘Drumming’ good night
Shaka Zulu, London’s iconic South African venue in the heart of Camden opened its doors this week to the creative events industry for a celebratory night of networking and fund raising for the event: ISESTALKS Out of Africa.
Lively talks were given by Richard Foulkes, president of ISES, Martin Lewis, head of MIMN charity and Roger Payne, owner of Shaka Zulu, before the evening got into full swing with the introduction of the world famous Drum Café. Surrounded by a backdrop of authentic 19th Century African carvings, giant Zulu Warriors, men in gold and characters that wouldn’t look out of place in the Lion King, the Drum Café took control. Energising guests with their interactive African drumming routines – this was an experience only Shaka Zulu could provide.
Roger Payne, owner of Shaka Zulu commented: “The night was extremely successful and probably couldn’t have gone any better. The turn out was terrific and there was a lot of networking and fun being had – which is exactly what Shaka Zulu is all about. This was a really worth while event and what made it extra special was it fitted perfectly with what Shaka Zulu stands for – passionate, fun and creative.”
David Hackett, chairman, BI Worldwide & Executive Committee Member of Meetings Industry Meeting Needs (MIMN) comments: “The ISES event at Shaka Zulu was superb with outstanding food and beverage and super service in an extraordinary venue. The fact that the fund-raising benefited a charity with which I am closely involved was the icing on the cake. It was a great event.” ISES raised £1,150 on the night by kindly donating proceeds to the charity Meetings Industry Meeting Needs (MIMN).
